MEGGS SMITH TROPHY

Defense

Robert 'Meggs' Smith was struck down by melanoma at the age of 32, having played and coached in the Club for many years.

He prided himself on playing hard defence. He was an inspirational leader on court, always gave his best, and demanded the best from his team mates whilst remaining a popular member of the Club.

The Meggs Smith Trophy recognises players who have excelled in the often overlooked, but vitally important, art of defense.
