TEAM SELECTION
Q. Do I have to trial to make a team?
Everyone who registers will be placed in a team. At the start of each season there will be a grading process to determine suitable teams and divisions to play in.
Q. How does grading work?
At the beginning of each season, we will have 2 or 3 weeks of grading sessions and games to determine the most suitable division for you to play in.
Q. Can I play with my friends?
We do not offer the option to play with friends. One of the great things about Lang Park is that we want our kids to meet new friends and develop a different circle to those they go to school with and hang around with every day?
Q. Can I keep the same team together?
This is generally not our approach. All teams are re-graded, including the individual players. This is part of Lang Park's approach towards player development.
Q. Can I play in a specific division?
During the grading period coaches and age coordinators will monitor players and teams to ensure placements are appropriate for each individual player and team but once the season starts the teams and divisions will be set and cannot be changed. You may request to play in a division but final placement will be based on player grading.
Q. Can I play in a different age group?
Players are required to play within their natural age groups.
Select players may be invited by the club to play permanently or temporarily fill in another age group or division however this is at the discretion of the club.
Q. Can I request a specific training time, day or venue?
Unfortunately, we have limited space and times available, so we are unable to take any requests for training sessions.
Q. What if I have never played before?
We have teams and divisions for all skill levels and experience.
Team sleection and training sessions will be structured appropriate to the skill level to maximise learning and enjoyment.
