BALL HANDLING

As a player, Ian Watson had a distinguished career as an Australian Representative at World Championships and at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics. Later, Ian was appointed the first Queensland Basketball Director of Coaching where his coaching direction brought many innovative programs to promote and develop Basketball throughout the State.

The Ian Watson Memorial Trophy recognises Ian's contribution to Basketball in Queensland, and is awarded to the player who has demonstrated the most outstanding ball handling.
