Lang Park Basketball was founded on 18 April 1962 by Bob Young, Leo Moloney, Wally Lewis, and Bryan Shepherd.
The club was founded on the merger between Centurions, Pacers and Postals (Post-Tels) with the new club based out of the Lang Park PCYC. The new club adopted the synonymous green and gold colour scheme and Leo-the-Lion'' mascot.
